RishtaForYou is a Muslim marriage bureau based in Ahmedabad, India, with 15 years in matchmaking. It serves families across India and NRIs abroad, with 3,000+ users on its platform.
Its service is personal: a matchmaker guides each family from biodata to introduction. As demand grew, that process ran on WhatsApp, phone calls, and manual records, and it could not keep pace with the number of profiles.

RishtaForYou’s CEO, Zakir Shaikh, wanted to take the bureau’s matchmaking online and stop depending on manual work to grow. The brief:

We wanted to give our clients a complete digital experience, from registration to conversation, without losing the personal touch of traditional matchmaking.
Discovery
Research & Ideation
We started with how the bureau already worked: biodata, shortlists, paid contact plans, and the matchmaker’s judgment. The goal was to put that process online, not replace it with a generic dating app.
Biodata as Searchable Data
Free-form biodata became structured profile fields, so families filter on the same criteria the matchmaker used.
Plans as System Rules
Plans sold by duration and contacts, such as 100 contacts over 6 months, became limits the platform enforces.
Matchmaker in Control
Admins see members, payments, and activity in one place, so oversight stays with the bureau.

Families trust a matrimonial platform with personal details, so the design had to feel clean, respectful, and simple. We kept registration and search up front and built every page mobile-first, since over 60% of visitors arrive on mobile.
